Well, I think they're interesting...
(How many links do you typically have to follow before you
find something that's decently interesting? This devolves into a
couple major areas. First, how much good stuff is out there, and
how much boring crap? Second, how easily amused are you?) I regret
to note that I'm easily amused; but that, too, is relative...
In any case, here are some people and things that I think
worthy of note:
-
The weird wild realm of Paghat the Ratgirl.
Paghat's Garden Pages Index may also be of interest to you,
if you're reading this.
-
Don Simpson, a rather extraordinary artist.
-
Susan Stepney, differently remarkable, with lots of
interesting bibliography and... well, go see for yourself.
-
Raphael Carter's site is quite something; the
Honeyguide Web log is notable, but if you ignore any of
it, you're missing some excellent work. I am
particularly taken by the photography...
- DeAnza
College's page of links to information on ceramics. (Well,
that's what it used to be. As of early June, 1999, it's an
announcement for an upcoming Web-only ceramics show.)
- Kathie Hodge's superb
listing of mycology resources on the Net, (or, if that link fails,
try this one) and
another
interesting mycological (etc.) page -- check out the
Clitocybe listing, for example.
-
Cynbe's Humongous Hotlist.
It's quite reasonably large, and definitely interesting.
-
Check out Spidra Webster.
She gives good intellectual bandwidth,
and I think that's pretty important.
-
Australasian gamelans I play in Seattle City Gamelan (which
doesn't have a Web page...yet...), and I love gamelan music of
all sorts. (I love lots of other music too. Even write music,
on occasion. Haven't got any of it up here yet, though.)
- Leigh Ann Hussey's
Homepage. She calls it The Brazen Hussey Spoke Shack and Miscellaneous
Arcana Repository.
- Bill Dortch's
place Bill used to run Ahab's HTML Reference, but he's
too busy now; here is a little handy thing he has done since.
- Wanna learn more
about HTML? Here's the reference that Bill Dortch is currently
commending.
- Do you cook? Interested in odd and "different" cuisines?
Check out Asian American
Kashrus Services. This reference courtesy the estimable
Scott Scidmore.
- Here's
our local traffic map, for those of you who are not in the
Seattle area but are interested in it, or who just want to see
a nifty Web page. It's quite good.
- Remember, you can find lots of good stuff by looking for it on any
of the big search engines. If you want to try a slightly wackier
tack, try this one:
A random selection from what they're looking up right now on Magellan.
A (Very) Few Commercial Pages
Here are just a few commercial and semicommercial links
that I think are worth having. (Mostly, I figure that
commercial stuff can be ignored, or you can find it when
you need it; these, however, are special to me for one
reason or another.)
Back to top level...
