Please forgive the color rendition on the first two images. They were scanned from a contact sheet. The glaze details, however, are scans of the objects themselves; I haven’t tweaked them at all except to crop them and set the size.
Green Bowl; March, 1997; collection of the late Geri Younggren.
Scale: the green bowl is about 5.5" across at its widest point, which is not the rim. The jar is about 4.5" tall, and 5" across at its widest point; it is a cuddly round little thing with slightly sloping sides. (Itrsquo;s also too heavy, but thinner walls and bases will come with more practice.)
Small Jar; March, 1997; the jar is about 4.5" tall, and 5" across at its widest point; it is a cuddly round little thing with slightly sloping sides. (Itrsquo;s also too heavy, but thinner walls and bases will come with more practice.)
You can see that the poor thing was still stuck to its pedestal when I took the photo; I have since removed it, losing only three or four chunks from the footring (grrr) in the process. I hope to have a better photo of this at some point; as you can tell from the glaze details, this photo is sadly lacking. (Click for detail of the interior.)
Detail of glaze drip on pedestal of small jar; The drip
is perhaps two or three times life-size as you see it
here, and it gives some idea of small-scale structure in
the glaze; it also has fairly decent color
rendition. For information on what this glaze is and why
it looks like that, check
the technical info part
of this section, when I get a chance to update it.
